Welcome Art Deco! Geometric settings were all the rage.

In the early 1920s it was quite acceptable to wear costume or imitation jewelyr during the day, but at night diamonds and other precious stones still reigned supreme (imitation at night was condemned). These barriers were lowered by the mid 1920s however when new materials abounded and form triumphed over content.

Bangles and cuff bracelets were hugely popular in the 1920s.

Bakelite achieved unprecedented heights of popularity during this decade.

Very long tassel necklaces were popular with the flappers.

Glass and crystal stones set on silver yielded sparkly effects for flapper outfits.
